With most of my family overseas, I'm always on the look-out for that 'perfect' florist and specifically one that is able to accommodate sending flowers to my loved ones for their special occasions. I have found though, that with Inter-Flora, their overseas ranges are somewhat limiting and I am sure, I have bought and sent every single one of the arrangements that they have on their 'menu' for overseas delivery.

I've managed to find a few on the Sunshine Coast and am hoping that you can help me 'follow the scent' in the right direction to find another one or two to make life more creative.

Buds on Buderim - Buderim Central Shopping Village, 12/7 Lindsay Road, Buderim

This was the first little florist I discovered after moving to the Sunshine Coast and to date have been very happy with their service and supply of floral arrangements overseas.

Buds on Buderim have been operating since 2005 and are positioned on the top of Buderim Mountain, about seven kilometres from Mooloolaba Beach. They specialise in exquisite orchids, hampers and small gifts. The Buds on Buderim trained staff pride themselves on their personal service and their motto of 'if the customer isn't happy, we're not happy' is certainly applicable.

To date, they have been my main choice, as parking is easy in the centre and there's definitely no 'fuss' with utilising their services. Value for money? I'm not sure, as it costs me more to send an arrangement to Sydney than to send one to South Africa.

IGA Marketplace - 32 Wises Road, Maroochydore

Then we have IGA Marketplace in Maroochydore. This is one of the rare IGA Marketplaces and although they always have a stunning supply of fresh market flowers, I unfortunately can't use them for overseas deliveries. But for day-to-day floral displays in one's home their flowers would be perfect - now, if only I knew how to arrange flowers in a vase, without looking like I've just 'stuffed' them in.

Buderim Florist - Shop 3, 45 Burnett Street, Buderim

The perfumes that surround you as you enter this beautiful little florist are truly beyond words - with an astounding variety of daily stocked seasonal flowers, potted plants and terrariums, one enters and has the sense you never want to leave. It's such a bright, florally, beautifully-scented florist.

Goods from the Palm Beach Collection and Ecoya Gift Boxes all add to the allure and aroma of this pretty little florist.

Positioned on Burnett Street in Buderim, parking is a bit scarce on the main road, but there is parking available at the rear. I'm not sure if they do Interflora or overseas deliveries, but I will definitely find out as they are absolutely worth another visit.

Buderim Floral Art - 110 King Street, Buderim

I very rarely secure a parking spot at this little shopping strip (and usually flowers are not on my agenda, when I do), so unfortunately, can't give an opinion on Buderim Floral Art. According to their website, they have been operating for over 25 years. Perhaps, somebody else has tried them and could give me their opinion. I did get a photo of the exterior of this florist, but that's the extent of my knowledge.

Pink Poppy Florist - 8A/158-170 Karawatha Dr, Mountain Creek

This is another stunning florist with an array of stunning floral bouquets. They advertise ordering and same day delivery. I love the way this florist has been co-ordinated with native Australian flowers and proteas (national flower emblem for South Africa), with the decor being extremely inviting. The prices that I saw were all in a very reasonable range as well. I chatted to the florist, who advised me that they don't use Interflora but do use 'Poppy' for overseas deliveries, so this is a place I will bookmark for my next floral arrangement to be sent overseas.

I don't like to be limited to where I shop for floral arrangements - variety is the spice of life - so where is your favourite 'petals' outlet, and do they do overseas deliveries? I would love to know.
