We Melburnians regard oursleves as a fashionable bunch. We are even touted as Austalia's fashion capital by the
Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Yet we're not exempt from those days when nothing you pull out from your wardrobe seems right. When your outfits become lacklustre, where do you go to rejuvenate your fashion sense?

There are some times of year in which it hard not to be fashion conscious. The
L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival, which runs every year in March, is an extravaganza of catwalk shows, forums and workshops. The week-long festival sells seperate tickets for each event, with a broad price range to cater to all budgets. While attending the opening night event will set you back $95, many of the catwalk shows will cost you a meagre $25.
The months of spring are rife with style, with
Melbourne Spring Fashion Week coinciding with horseracing season, drawing fashionable fillies to the track. In 2011, Melbourne Spring Fashion Week boasted over 200 events including beauty workshops, free runway shows, emerging designer showcases, documentary showings and parties. This year, Fashion Week is set to be even bigger with more events than will ever fit in your diary.
When real life fails you, it's time to turn to the internet for your fashion fix.
LOOKBOOK.nu is popular with street fashionistas, who snap and upload photos of their outfits. While it is an internationally popular site based in the US, you can look at their Melbourne section
here.
