Fancy a trip to Paris for the price of a bus fare?
Want to enter the world of Moulin Rouge and do a spot of Parisian shopping without leaving your neighbourhood?
At
Bondi's Fashion Avenue the props and set pieces of Baz Luhrmann's Moulin Rouge! have found a new home.
The lavish set pieces help create a Parisian theme for the Fashion Avenue Warehouse, a new shopping venue at Bondi Beach where collections from some of the area's best up-and-coming fashion designers are under the spotlight.
Strut down the red carpet and you'll discover a trove of wares from Lulu Loves Paris, Style by Design, danyelle Shoes, Monique Leshman, True Religion and Purdy Klampet.
The Parisian theme continues with labels
Lulu Loves Paris and danYelle shoes at Bondi's latest fashion arrondissement but even though the style is decadent, the prices are not.
danYelle Shoes range from $180 to $220 for the exclusive range.
The label's designer Danielle DiNunzio draws her inspiration from international settings and each shoe is named after its muse such as Triomphe for a feminine yet punk looking studded ankle boot.
DiNunzio uses genuine Italian and Argentinean leather and each piece is embellished with her signature style such as origami, beading, plaited leather, feathers and studs.
Lulu loves Paris designer Louise Duffy's collection ranges from day to evening wear, jewellery, bags, her own shoe label Ruby Tuesday Designs and even furniture.
It feels like your entering a Parisian salon as you browse her stall, decorated with wrought iron dress mannequins, bird cages, candelabras and Parisian tiles, where you will be greeted by the store's mascot Chatt - a Chihuahua and Shih Tzu cross.
"Fashion has become tedious lately, I aim to inspire people to be creative with fashion," Duffy said.
Designers included among the labels own are: Virginie&Moi, Cop.Copine, Jessica and Shine at bargain prices ranging from $49 to $300.
The Fashion Avenue retail concept is the brainchild of events and entertainment gurus Marc and Paul Dias from
Black Book Agency in cahoots with Greg Atkin of Your Special Events.
Dias has transformed the former run down warehouse to a decadent, luxurious setting where each stall is uniquely dressed to pay homage to the designers inspiration such as a Parisian salon for Lulu Loves Paris.
