Apollo Bay is the greatest holiday destination for families to go, at any time of the year, specifically in Summer as there is a gigantic beach which looks so amazing to swim in.

Apollo Bay is an holiday destination located just over two hours away from the city. To get to Apollo Bay, a great route to take is the Great Ocean Road, which allows the passengers in the car to view the beautiful scenery, including the amazing beach and the upcoming windy road.

Going to Apollo Bay with my family was a lot of fun, we really enjoyed staying at the little caravan park and chilling out there for one week.

The beach right across the road was amazing and we could hear the crashing of the waves in the night time, which was relaxing.

Its a nice place to take children as the caravan park allows you to rent out movies for free and lets you borrow soccer balls and other sport equipment.

When we went we rented out Daddy Day Care, Madagascar 2 and Flubber, which we watched in the evening once we had come back home from sight seeing.

Apollo Bay is the type of holiday that would best suit children who have been brought up to appreciate the little things in life, and kids that won't be grumpy if their holiday house isn't right near a big amusement park or a big shopping centre where there's lots to do. Apollo Bay is a place where you get back to nature and basics and do fun things!

This was our week and some ideas you might get if you're planning on going there

Monday: We chilled out in the cabin for a while and then my brother, sister and I played soccer out in the huge spacious grass area, it was a blast! In the evening step-dad cooked up a BBQ on the free BBQ Webber we got.

Tuesday: We went into the shopping complex and had a look at the cool tourist shops. The brother and sister spent a bit of their money on some souvenirs and then we went across the road and sat on the grass on a blanket and watched the clouds for a bit and read some books.

Wednesday: We visited the Otway Treetops and went walking up on these bridges up high in the trees. It was raining so we had to wear ponchos. The walk was fun; my sister was a bit nervous at first and cried but then she realised we were 100% safe and we continued walking.

Thursday: We spent the day at the beach and played in the sand, ran wild into the water and took so many photos. My step dad loved the beach and it was so quiet we were the only ones there. My mum didn't go because she didn't bring beach shoes, but the brother and sister LOVED it. The beach was all ours and we could run, slide, swim, build anything we wanted!

On Friday we woke up early to pack up the cabin and get our bags ready to go home, my brother and sister actually cried a bit in the car because they said they would miss being up in Apollo Bay.

The best part of the holiday was that we didn't bring any technology, besides our phones with us. We left the iPod/DS/laptop all at home and we just had a great technology free week.
