Mississippi is beautiful in the fall and with a variety of festivals occurring during the season, there's sights, sounds, special events and fun to be found - you just have to look. Mississippi in the fall has blues and jazz festivals, various food festivals and heritage festivals and many more types of festivals. With so many festivals in Mississippi, there is bound to be a festival to meet everyone's festival needs.
The Howlin' Wolf Memorial Blues Festival is held every year in Westpoint, Mississippi to commemorate the contribution that Howlin' Wolf made to the blues genre. The festival highlights the many musicians that have made Mississippi a well-known historical center for the blues. Past festivals have featured musicians such as Paul "Wine" Jones, the Kenny Brown Blues Band and J.B. and the Midnighters.
The Annual Children's Literary Festival is held in Mound Bayou in the Mississippi Delta region and is a celebration of community, family and individual literacy. The Annual Ocean Springs Art Walk is a unique opportunity to experience some of Mississippi's finest artists, while enjoying a leisurely stroll through Ocean Springs Mississippi. Located just across the Bay from Biloxi, Ocean Springs is a beautiful town with a colourful and creative community. The Annual Ocean Springs Art Walk is normally held on the first Saturday in the first week of September and should not be missed.
