Event: 04/12/2010

Christmas is all about excess, but that also means a lot of feeling guilty afterwards. You spent too much, you ate too much, and what did you do to help those less fortunate than you? But if you stop at the
Fair Trade Christmas Markets for all your Christmas needs this year, you'll have one less thing to feel bad about.
According to
Wikipedia, fair trade is a social movement and market-based approach that helps producers in developing countries obtain better trading conditions. This involves helping small scale farmers and producers in these nations to compete against big businesses.
The markets are organised by the Queensland Fair Trade Collective, a not for profit organisation that works to promote awareness of fairly traded goods. Visitors will receive two days of ethical shopping opportunities, with a huge collection of stalls selling gifts, home wares, toys, clothing and gift hampers, plus entertainment, face painting, charity information and fair trade tea and coffee stalls.
The Fair Trade Christmas Markets are open on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 December from 9.00am until 3.00pm at Nudgee Junior College Hall (corner Kate Street and Witton Road, Indooroopilly).
