Our last planned outing to the Eumundi Market did not go so well; considering it was Sunday and the market is on Saturdays. Since our early days in Brisbane, we have become seasoned market goers and now I jot down the dates in my diary. One that I have just added is the Eumundi Summer Nights Market.
This twilight market will run for five Friday nights from 5 pm until 9 pm, beginning December 16. It's a great night out for the family with market stalls, movies, music, and more.
A free family movie will feature each Friday night in the cinema under the stars. The Muppet Christmas Carol (December 23) will be followed by Up, Happy Feet, and Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs on future Fridays.
There will also be workshops for all ages: Christmas Decoration Creation, Play With Clay, and Make a Badge.

If you are unfamiliar with the
Eumundi Market (like I was six months ago), it began in 1979 with three stall holders, eight visitors, and a turnover of $30. Today it is the biggest art and craft market in Australia and a major tourist attraction. The philosophy of the market is and always has been "make it, bake it, grow it, sew it". There isn't much you can't buy here with more than six hundred stalls to choose from: artwork, furniture, homeware, fashion, jewellery, toys, fruit, vegetables, bread, coffee, ice-cream and much, much more.

If you are still shopping for last minute Christmas gifts, the Eumundi Market will be open on Christmas Eve. It will also be operating on New Years Eve. For more information, click

Eumundi is located in the Sunshine Coast hinterland; a ninety minute drive north of Brisbane. The market is held in the centre of town on Memorial Drive.
