"Step by step. Heart to heart. Left, right, left. We all fall down like Toy Soldiers" Eminem played at Melbourne's Etihad Stadium on Thursday 1 December to rave reviews.

However, his gig in Sydney culminated in a mass of concert-goers demanding refunds on their tickets due to the poor sound quality.

Left for 2012 at Etihad Stadium are only two more games for soccer fans: Melbourne versus Perth, and Melbourne Versus Adelaide.

Entry to events are made through Ticketmaster or by phoning 136100. This ends a month in which international soccer stars Harry Kewell and David Beckham played-off against each other in a grand final match between Melbourne Victory and LA Galaxy on Tuesday 6 December.

The win was 3-4 for the Beckham's visiting LA Galaxy team.

Due to the overwhelming interest in attending sporting and entertainment events in Melbourne, a new stadium was built and opened on 9 March 2000. It was then given the name Colonial Stadium. In 2002, the stadium was titled the Telstra Dome as it gained status as one of Melbourne's iconic landmarks. Unfortunately, the well-known Telstra Dome was renamed Etihad Stadium on March 2009 as the naming rights were handed-over to the UAE owned Etihad Airways.

Etihad translates to 'United' in English.
