Despite being located in such a small space in the City Gallery at Melbourne Town Hall, it was a delight to attend the
Gingerbread Village by Epicure. Naturally, it was popular with children and adults alike.
You are greeted by a gingerbread chef as you line up in the queue waiting to get inside. Expect the exhibition to be swamped with families. If you are more than happy to wait longer than the time you spend inside, then this event is for you. Expect to see key Melbourne landmarks (including the MCG) made entirely out of gingerbread, and all photographers and non-photographers alike taking happy snaps. Clever art and creativity at work.
All in all, these creations took around two months to make, and gingerbread is also available for purchase as you walk inside the City Gallery. A few lucky children will be grinning with their eyes lighting up as they start eating their gingerbread teddy bear after leaving the exhibition.
