The Hayagriva Buddhist Centre is presenting a series of events with Venerable Robina Courtin this August. Robina Courtin is a Buddhist nun in the Tibetan Buddhist Gelugpa tradition and lineage of Lama Thubten Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche.
Courtin is often described as 'funny, dynamic, affectionate, kind and outrageous' and this August, you have the chance to participate in her teaching program titled ''. Presented over 3 sessions (3, 10 and 17 August at 7.30pm), this program is ideal for all and will explore the many benefits of regular mediation. As Lama Zopa Rinpoche says, "We can mould our minds into any shape we like". According to Buddhism, we all have extraordinary potential: to lessen and eventually eradicate attachment, anger, depression and the other unhappy states of mind that we wrongly assume are at the core of our being, and to fully develop love, compassion and the other marvellous qualities that we all possess. To do this we need to harness the energy of our minds by using the marvellous psychological techniques known as "meditation". In 1978 Courtin ordained at Tushita Meditation Centre in Dharamsala. She has since held a diverse range of roles; including Editorial Director of Wisdom Publications, Editor of Mandala and founding the Liberation Prison Project. Courtin's work has been featured in two documentary films, Christine Lundberg's On the Road Home (1998) and Amiel Courtin–Wilson's Chasing Buddha (2000) and she continues to tour the world inspiring others with her teachings from the heart.Places are strictly limited and early bookings are advised.
