Edmonds & Greer is a bustling French provincial café and gift shop tucked away in the quaint little suburb of Oatley West.

Located in a converted federation on a quiet corner of this small village strip, the café is buzzing with activity that is in contrast with its sleepy surrounds.

There is a charming display of goods in the front window and to the side is another charming arrangement of al fresco tables complete with a cheerful Saturday morning crowd. The setting is as pretty as a picture.

The pretty al fresco arrangement always draws a crowd

Once inside you'll be impressed with the stylish black and white décor and the designer kitchen style service counter, its delicate display of desserts creating a surprisingly homely ambience.

Dining in you can feel sophisticated while sitting at one of their cosy tables with cushioned bench seats by the windows. Or try the adjacent dining room with its communal table and impressive low-slung chandelier. The whole interior is made even prettier with colourful and well-placed merchandise, all for sale of course if anything takes your fancy.

The waiters here are pleasant and efficient despite the hectic breakfast rush. Most importantly, the coffee is good here and as for the food, the usual café suspects are spruced up with dishes like warm home baked crumpets with jam and mascarpone cheese. The servings are adequate (anything bigger probably wouldn't fit on the dainty tables) so there's still room to try one of their fresh baked desserts or indulge in that second cappuccino.

After your final cup of coffee, a browse through the crowded gift store is an absolute must. Here you will find all manner of unique trinkets from jewellery to stationery to heavenly scented candles. Prices are on the steep side but everything is well worth a look. Since you'll want to take home most of it you probably won't walk out empty handed.

Overall, Edmonds & Greer made for a good café experience and pretty spot for a weekend breakfast.
