Fishing is one of the world's most relaxing recreational pursuits. There's nothing more soothing than the solitude and isolation of your favourite fishing spot. Unfortunately, fishing is a not a feasible activity for vegetarians or animal lovers – until now.
EcoPark Fishing World (
Beenleigh Road, Luscombe) provides an activity that ensures minimal harm to the fish. Guests are given fishing rods with barbless hooks that protect the fish and the fisherman as well. The catch and release policy gives fish a second chance at life and also ensures that there will be plenty of fish for the next group to catch. At EcoPark, you can enjoy the fun of fishing without harming any animals.
The park provides ten fishing ponds, fishing equipment hire, picnic and barbeque facilities, a cafe and tea and coffee on arrival. If you've never fished before, you can take advantage of a free fishing lesson at the park that will teach you how to cast your rod and how to wind in your catch.
EcoPark Fishing World is open Wednesday to Sunday. Guests can access the parks facilities without fishing for $10 for adults and $5 for children (children under six free).
Fishing Permit Fees include the use of the ponds, one fishing rod and bait and hooks for the duration of your stay. The cost is $40 per rods and rods may be shared between people.
