Love the outdoors and our native flora and fauna? Well, Eco-Adventure Tours give you the opportunity to enter nature's tranquil night-time world by torchlight in the beautiful Aussie bush or amidst towering Mountain Ash in various locations across Victoria.

Licensed Tour Operators with Parks Victoria, this highly experienced group of operators with Advanced Eco-Tourism Accreditation also teaches you about the Aboriginal and European history of the particular area. All the while you're looking for gliders, wallabies, kangaroos and wombats, bats and owls.

Birds you might encounter include: Tawny Frogmouth Nightjars, Sulphur Crested Cockatoos, Lyrebirds, Crimson Rosellas, Tree Creepers, Kookaburras, King Parrots, Currawongs and Fantails. Fantastic!

Tours (which also operate as half-day tours) run for approximately three hours and start at sunset. They are centred around various picturesque locations throughout the Yarra Valley, Dandenong Ranges and Victoria's High Country. Choose from the Badger Weir Picnic Area, the Silvan, Cardinia or Maroondah Reservoir Parks, the Toolangi State Forest, and other locations.

The group's focus is on "ecologically sustainable tourism with a primary focus on experiencing natural areas that foster environmental understanding, appreciation and conservation." Well, that can only be a great thing!

An Eco Adventure Tour also makes for a very natural gift for Christmas and other occasions. Gift vouchers are available.

With a growing focus on our precious environment, learning about it and protecting it, eco-adventure tours give us an excellent appreciation of worlds most of us see too infrequently – and remind us to take care of them.
