This was my first encounter with EastEnd Cabaret and I walked out feeling incredibly entertained. They're back at the Adelaide Fringe this year with Sexual Tension, clearly an R-rated show. The show begins with a cheeky announcement warning audiences of swearing, sexual references and full frontal nudity so should you feel uncomfortable with that you may be blindfolded at the appropriate moments.

Settling into your seats from the first laugh of the night you will be graced with the presence of the talented and deviant diva Bernadette Byrne appearing at the back of the tent welcoming the audience and looking for "volunteers" straight up. There is nothing voluntary about it but rest assured ladies, she's looking for boys.

She rides up to stage where the show truly begins with her one man/woman band Victor Victoria who is a great comedy him/herself dressed half as a man and the other half as a woman. Victor Victoria is in fact the one man woman band playing the keyboard, accordion, singing, hunting "volunteers" and pulling Bernadette away from audience members!

They go on to perform cleverly written naughty songs, talk about sexual tension and throw as many innuendos imaginable with plenty of sharp wit providing high value comedy. Take a peek into the lives of two cabaret roommates and the antics they get up to. The songs are catchy and the hour passes quickly. Bernadette also promises to personally harass the front row so if you have a nemesis send them to her.

Bernadette and Victor are hilariously naughty, charming, sexy, clever and talented. The show is well written, well rehearsed and gave me an hour full of belly laughs. If you're looking for comedy and cabaret don't miss this show.

EastEnd Cabaret are performing at the Garden of Unearthly Delights at 9.45pm until Sunday 15 March. The show runs for an hour and ticket prices are $25 - $32 each.
Oh and SPOILER, there isn't actually full frontal nudity.
