Billed as being "a unique and interactive variety show", the very first
East London Lifestyle Festival looks like it could be an event worth checking out.
The aim of the festival is to celebrate the diversity of cultures found in the UK capital, with lots of events and workshops on the day to keep everyone busy and entertained.
Taking place on Saturday 15th October, the festival features, for example, Laughter Yoga with Leela Bunce. Leela believes in laughing your way to good health and plans to have you cracking up in no time, and feeling all the better for it. Leela's show/workshop was well received at this year's Edinburgh Fringe and so should prove popular at the festival.
Imaginary Cities with Chermiah Hart will have you making the most of your creative abilities, working together in groups with live instrumental music serving to stimulate your imagination in ways you never thought possible.
African Harmonies is being billed as "an unforgettable singing experience" with Sophia Efthimiou, a community musician based in east London. Sophia has made it her mission in life to help people enjoy making music, which also encompasses voice work.
Go along to see what she has in store for you - and fear not, you don't have to be a talented musician to get involved.
Movement, music and self-expression" comes in the form of the Bollywood Dance event led by professional dancer Kaneen Morgan.
Other acts and workshops include magic from talented magician Javier Ortega plus plenty more to keep you entertained and engaged.
Organisers are hoping that the first ever
East London Lifestyle Event will be a big success and aim to get everyone "inspired and energised."
The festival takes place in Canning Town at Community Links on Barking Road, a short walk from Canning Town tube and DLR station.
