Earth Hour began in 2007 as a project to highlight the issues of climate change and how it affects our environment. This year WWF celebrates 10 years of making real change, of uniting people to bring about real change and of keeping the message going beyond the one hour of lights out every year.
You can be a part of this change and host your own event. Proceeds will go to the World Wildlife Fund's projects throughout the world to make our environment a better place for everyone and every living thing.
Or, you can also take part by going along to the many events being staged throughout Australia on the night.
Earth Hour is not just about switching lights off for one hour a year, it's an environmental movement using the power of people to bring about change. Help our future generations to have a safe environment to live in, switch off to #JoinTheFuture.
