E Fiftyfive (E55) Bar

Cleverly named E55 is a classic 'chill out' bar set snuggly at number 55 Elizabeth Street in the Melbourne CBD minutes away from Flinders street station.



Head down the stairs to this relaxed basement setting and you are greeted with one seriously funky bar with an eclectic mix of furniture and tables that work in shabby chic, mix and match style reminiscent of 70's decor. The result being a warm and friendly environment that is created with chaise lounges sitting comfortably near soft over stuffed couches and cosy arm chairs.

E55 was originally designed as an internet café and that part of the venue still exists during the day and into the early evening. However when the sun sets the venue turns into the perfect chill out zone to grab a coffee or start your eve with a few decently priced beverages. A personal favourite of mine was the very generously sized Alcoholic Ginger beer ($14).

During the day relax with a mix of hip hop and a touch of reggae. Open every night till late the mixture of DJs keeps the music fresh and the relaxed atmosphere is the perfect setting for a few drinks and great eve with friends.



Drink specials include $10 jugs on E55's so named reggae Wednesdays and $5.50 pizzas every day, which seem to have gathered quite a name for themselves as some casual lunch time dining or pre drink nibbles. The bar does not charge a cover and they encourage you to relax in this easy-going environment.
