I love new cafes. I also love being at a new cafe that no one has caught on to yet, or maybe people have caught on and I just happen to go on a quiet day and think that I'm here before all of Melbourne.

It was around 10 past 10 when I came in to . It was cool, the air-conditioner was on and that is much better than the two ceiling fans I have in my apartment - so I was happy. I took a seat and within a few moments a menu and a cool jug of water was brought to my table. This is how it happened and this is how I like it.

Food was ordered and coffees were insisted upon. Let us find out what happened.

Espresso. Kenyan Single Srigin. Rosso Coffee.
Light and bright orange blossoms tiptoed across my palate with its light body. There was a slight sourness to the end which made me appreciate the subtle sweetness to this drop.

Poached Eggs with Multigrain toast, avocado and Drugstore beans.
The dill on the poached eggs made these eggs worth the travel. Special mentions to the Drugstore beans, as they were six thousand parts amazing.

Cold Drip. Peru.
Chocolaty, refreshing, delicious. End of story.

What else?
The staff are ready to answer questions, they know about the coffee they're serving, they know about the meals and the specials. I'd come here just to see people who work here.

Maybe it was the heat. Maybe it was Big Day Out. Maybe it was just a quiet Sunday. Whatever it was, bring everyone you know and make this place the reason to forget about the traffic and parking restrictions and eat in South Yarra.
