Debra, a stay-at-home mum of three, has just recently moved to Brisbane with her family. She is looking forward to experiencing and sharing all that the city has to offer.

With one child at home and the school holidays quickly approaching, I was beginning to worry about how I was going to get my Christmas shopping completed. Then I discovered the Drop 'n' Shop Fun Centre while strolling through Westfield Garden City.

Located on the upper level near Harvey Norman, Drop 'n' Shop is a fully supervised child-minding service. Mums (and Dads) can enjoy some stress-free shopping, have a make-over or catch up with a friend over coffee, knowing that the kids are having fun in a safe and secure environment.

The friendly staff, who have undergone a criminal history check and are trained in First Aid and they do not just supervise the kids; they interact with and engage them.

Available for children aged three to eleven, some of the activities include face painting, colouring in and crafts. In addition to a variety of toys for boys and girls, there is a dress-up box and a kitchen play area. For older kids, there's a Playstation and a reading corner.

Cost is $7 for ½ hour per child with a discount for two or more children. Children can stay and play for a maximum of two hours.

Other locations include: Capalaba, Carindale, Chermside, Indooroopilly, and Underwood. Click here for more information.

I used this service with my three year old last week at Garden City . I left her for half an hour but when I went back to collect her, she didn't want to leave; so she had another half and hour. Crystal was wonderful and my daughter is still talking about it while I managed to do everything on my list in half the time. Well worth the $10.
