Down Under Live 2012

Home > Things to do in London > Exhibitions
by Trev M (415) (subscribe)
Event: 11/02/2012 - 12/02/2012
Australia and New Zealand are popular with Brits, there's little doubt about that. We're not that different after all, what with the entwined history, the common language, the common love of beer, and the common love of great weather (it's just that we don't tend to get too much of it here in Blighty).

For some Brits, the two countries are so alluring that they end up jacking in their jobs, chucking all their clothes in a suitcase and jetting south of the equator to find out if the water really does spin the other way when it goes down the plug-hole.

Now, if you're a Blighty-based Brit reading this and thinking, "Yep, it's now or never; it's time to give it a whirl on the other side of the world," then you may be interested to know that the Down Under Live Show is taking place in Islington in the middle of February. And the organisers know exactly what they're doing by holding the show in that month, one of the coldest and most miserable on the British calendar (in terms of climate, that is).

Seminars taking place at the show will tell you all you need to know about how to make the move, including advice on such things as daily costs, house prices, jobs and salaries. You'll also be able to get information on the visa process and how the points system works.

There'll even be special presentations from federal and state governments telling you why you should move to their territory over another.

And remember, the two-day Down Under Live event isn't aimed only at those thinking of moving to Australia or New Zealand. Anyone interested in taking a vacation down under is also invited to attend, with plenty of enthusiastic exhibitors in attendance eager to help you build your perfect travel itinerary.

You'll be able to pick up information on how to get a working holiday visa too - something which might be of interest to students considering a break in their studies.

Australia and New Zealand have escaped the worst of the world recession up to now, another reason why you might want to up sticks and change your life forever.
