They say that a successful marriage takes work but a successful breakup? That takes a truly special relationship.

Eighteen months ago, Doug Suiter 's life changes when his fiancee tells him that she wants to have children. Yes, with him. Reasons? A lot of people do this, she wasn't being particularly demanding and well, 37 years old!

Join the newly single Doug Suiter as he explores the thought processes - and complete lack thereof - that led him on a journey from a life of domestic ignorant bliss to his current bachelor status that he shares with his adorable tabby cat - and Instagram sensation - "Robbo", in Near Mrs , Doug's debut festival show for this year's Sydney Fringe Comedy, on September, 18th 20th and 21st at The Factory Theatre in Marrickville.



Near Mrs examines the nature love, selfishness and how, in the end, they might just be one and the same thing. Poignant, real, warm and funny. It's more than stand-up comedy - this is stand-up honesty.

Doug Suiter (Raw Comedy NSW State Finalist) is a regular on the Sydney comedy circuit, a writer and editor for television and co-creator of The Joke's On Me (and occasionally voice over on those annoying air-conditioning commercials). Doug has performed in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Newcastle Woollongong and London.

Near Mrs brings his years of stand-up and MC work together, in a show that is personal as well as clever.
