I have to be honest. I am a semi-regular patron to Double Take Café/ Restaurant for several reasons; it is within walking distance to my house, it is situated right on the lake with great views and the food and coffee are great. In fact the only reason I say I am a semi-patron is because I don't get time to get there as often as I'd like.

Double Take is situated on The Boulevard, Toronto and as mentioned, it is right near the water with great views of Lake Macquarie from either the covered outdoor seating or the comfortable lounges inside.
It has a relaxed casual atmosphere and the breakfast menu runs till 3 pm on weekends, which is a godsend when you have a lazy sleep-in on a Sunday morning and don't manage to get out of the house until the afternoon. This brings me to my favourite dish, the eggs benedict, and a close second is the big brekkie.
The service is always quick and friendly and the menu is well priced. My only criticism would be that the menu is not very kid-friendly, although I was told that all meals are available to purchase in child-sized portions.
