Festival **

Alexandra Gardens, St Kilda Rd, Melbourne
This is the annual queer celebration attended by over 160,000 people. A suite of arts and cultural events spread over 85 venues throughout Melbourne and Regional Victoria. The festival includes activities including visual art, theatre, sport, cabaret, live music, and public forums.&

Australian Open - The Grand Slam Of Asia/Pacific

**FEBRUARY
Great Ocean Road Cycle Race **
8 - 10 Feb
Johnstone Park, Gordon ave, Geelong
This is an annual 3 day cycle from Geelong to Warnambool. Limited to 100 riders, this takes them along beautiful ocean scenery and accompanied by a support vehicle.
Superbike World Championship
26 - 28 Feb
Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, Back Beach Road, Cowes
This has got to be right up alongside the Grand Prix except this has a trackside camping ground with entertainment! The spectacular Phillip Island has one of the highest average speeds of any circuit in the world. Enjoy the penguins while you are down there.
Melbourne Food And WineFestival
4 – 13 March
Various venues around Melbourne, Swanston Street, Melbourne
This is the most delicious festivals all year. It attracts the world's biggest culinary and wine personalities and features Victoria's own infamous chefs, restaurateurs, winemakers, and producers. Look out for the daily pop up artisan bakeries. This year the festival concludes with 1500 seated World's Longest Lunch. See these

Formula 1 Australian
Grand Prix**
17 – 20 March
Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit, Albert Rd, South Melbourne
Get revved up for the long weekend. With the world's fastest cars, stunning models and famous celebrities for rip roaring action. &
#8232 ; It's loud, really loud, so take your earmuffs. Look out for the Motorcycle grand prix also to be held on 21-23 October.
Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show
16 - 20 March
Royal Exhibition Building and Carlton Gardens South, 9 Nicholson St, Carlton
Held at the world heritage listed venue, this is the biggest flower and garden show in the Southern Hemisphere. Top gardeners and landscapers share their ideas. Sustainable and other products, such as outdoor furniture, floral art available to purchase.
Jurassic World Exhibition
19 March – 9 OcT
Museum Victoria, Carlton Gardens, Nicholson Street, Carlton
This is a fun, whole family, interactive and educational exhibition. Suitable for all ages, participants will be immersed in the blockbuster movie scenes.
Melbourne International Comedy Festival
23 Mar - 17 Apr 2016
For all things funny and predictable, the Comedy Show has lots to offer everyone in the family. Look out for some impromptu, deadly funny Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders shows, clowns and more. This is a chance for talented 'undiscovered' artists to have a go, so support them and be surprised.

Rip Curl Pro
23 Mar - 3 Apr 2016 (dates to be confirmed)
Bells Beach Foreshore, Bells Beach Rd, Bells Beach
Even if you are not a surfer the idea of watching the world's best young surfers doing their best in the water isn't a hard ask. The Rip Curl Pro is the only professional sporting event allowed to be held on Easter Friday.

Jazz Festival**
28 May - 7 June (dates to be confirmed)
Various Venues, Swanston Street, Melbourne
Just what's needed on a cold winter's night. Involving hundreds of events and musicians late-night parties, club gigs, film screenings, jazz classes and free concerts. Lots of fun to be had.

The red carpet is literally going to be rolled out to showcase a range of new Australian and world talents. This is one of the biggest and oldest festivals in the world.

Writers Festival**
25 Aug - 4 Sep
The Wheeler Centre, 176 Little Lonsdale Street, Melbourne
This features the world's leading writers, thinkers, illustrators and performers. Get involved in panel discussions, film screenings, workshops, debates and performances. Special sessions are held for children where they can meet authors and be inspired by storytelling. Many free events – suitable for all ages.
**SEPTEMBER
Australian
Football League Finals Series**
2 Sep - 1 Oct
Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Brunton Ave, East Melbourne
As well as being a fair dinkum Aussie experience, the grand final is shown world wide. It doesn't matter if your team got through or not, the AFL finals inspire beer swigging and loud cheering and booing that can be heard for miles.
**OCTOBER

Cup Carnival**
10 Sep - 5 Nov
Flemington Racecourse, 448 Epsom Road, Flemington
As they say, it's a world class event that stops a nation, this is considered a major international social and cultural event. Much more than horse racing, this carnival involves social events and a place to be fashionable, fabulous or outrageous. Lost of fun until you've lost all your money!
**NOVEMBER
Equitana Melbourne **
17 - 20 Nov
Melbourne Showgrounds, Epsom Road, Ascot Vale
Famous throughout the southern hemisphere, this event features horses, Olympic gold medallists, an elite equine competition, hundreds of exhibitors entertainment and Aussie cowboys (and you don't see that everyday!)
DECEMBER
