The 2010-2011 Queensland Floods have already become an indelible part of Queensland's history. Every Queenslander – even those who weren't affected –has a flood story to tell. The
Queensland Museum is hoping to turn these stories into an exhibition. But they need your help.
The museum is calling for donations for a display that will explore the floods and their aftermath. Queensland residents are called upon to share stories and items that paint a picture of the event. Examples of current donations include advertisements for fundraising events, damaged household items and volunteer hand outs.
If you would like to make a contribution, visit the Queensland Museum website and fill out a
Donation Form. You will need to include a photograph and description of the item. Chosen items will become the property of the museum to be displayed in relevant exhibitions.
The Queensland Museum is only collecting tangible items. Photographs, video footage and any other digital donations can be donated to the
State Library of Queensland.
