Freestyling in Tallebudgera
Tucked away in leafy Tallebudgera, the BMX track at Dolan Family Park is one of the Gold Coast's better kept secrets. Situated in a large open field, well back from Tallebudgera Connection Road is a dirt track with a dozen jumps of various heights.
Dolan Family Park, Tallebudgera
This freestyle BMX track has been designed for use by riders of all abilities. Smaller jumps, of only a few centimetres high, are grouped together on one side, and bigger jumps aligned on the other.
Younger children, and those less confident of their abilities (that would be me) can ride half way around the track, and leave the more challenging jumps to the more accomplished – or daring – riders.
Riding the smaller jumps
Dolan Family Park also hosts a small playground, with some swings and a slide for younger children. There is no shade provided but there are a number of large trees dotted around the park where you can get some respite from the sun. The park is fully fenced and the large grassy area is perfect for a game of footy or cricket.
Small playground for little kids
We have been coming to the freestyle BMX track at Dolan Family Park for a number of years and, perhaps because it is somewhat off the beaten track, have never found it particularly busy.
Amenities are limited to a water fountain. There are no toilets and no cafes, or shops nearby. On street parking is available in Dungogie Drive.
