Hello fellow readers, I have to say I'm not someone who has an extreme love for stealth games but Dishonored is a game everyone should play, even just once.

Dishonored is a first person stealth action adventure game, (a mouthful). The game is developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. Arkane studios were involved in BioShock 2 for the Designs, Animation and Art. You can really see the resemblance in animation and design in Dishonored. The Publisher Bethesda Softworks are well known for the creation of the Elder scroll series, which in my opinion are some elements of that series within Dishonored.

The game is set in a fictional city called Dunwall, modeled after Victorian London. The main character in the game, who you play as, is Corvo Attano, who is a legendary bodyguard to the Empress who is framed for her murder and forced to become an assassin to seek revenge. The murderers you see at the beginning of the game are also assassins. Who Corvo then learns their ways to get back at those who conspired against him.

The first person view really adds to the tense effect of sneaking around, and not knowing what's behind you. However there are many abilities to getting around the levels. If it be teleportation or using dark vision to see through walls. There's a lot of freedom in Dishonored as you can go through the missions however you want to. You can be a stealthy, go straight into combat, or do a bit of both. Besides the main quest you have to do to progress through the missions, you also have side quests to do which makes the game a lot longer since if you do just the main missions the game can seem pretty short.

Combat involves both long range and short range combat, using crossbows and daggers. Also the crossbow can hold different types of darts that can simply send a guard to sleep or instantly kill them. It is said that you can knock out every enemy in the game without actually killing them lethally. I'm not sure how true it is though. A very good game and well worth buying for countless replay ability.

Downsides: I really can't think of any but I thought the game could have been longer.

Good side: Replay able, great story and very addictive.
