Nothing beats the feeling of jumping on your dirt bike and hitting the bush tracks on the weekend. But for those that don't have a registered bike or license to ride, the options in the area a fairly limited. Unless you know someone with a private property you have even fewer options. But never fear. There are a few spots all within a reachable distance for a weekender, where you can load up the bikes and head too for seemingly endless riding options.

Binacrombi Dirt Bike Park is a property located about four hours southwest of Newcastle between the towns of Goulburn and Oberon. The park which is situated on the Abercrombie River has over 530 acres, and hundreds of kilometres of bush tracks dedicated for dirt bike riders. You can ride an unregistered bike here and you don't' need a license. There's no age restrictions either, so that just about covers everyone that rides a dirt bike. There's motorcross and enduro tracks ticking all the boxes and if you get bored of riding (like you ever will) there are plenty more activities to choose from.

Need accommodation? They've got you covered with onsite cabins or campsites with full amenities including hot showers and toilets. The cabins are self-contained and sleep up to 10 adults. Alternatively you can camp down on the river and if you bring your fishing rod along, you might be lucky enough to catch a fresh trout for dinner.

Another great spot to head to for a weekend dose of riding is Louee. Situated a little over four hours' drive west of Newcastle, near Mudgee this is another property jam packed full of motorcross and enduro loops. This is a 10,000 acre working sheep and cattle property that again allows unregistered bikes and unlicensed riders of all ages.
Accommodation here ranges from budget shearer's quarters to the luxury Lue Station homestead. Camping is also available along Half Acre Creek. This dirt bike complex is also equipped with its own workshop and complimentary free mechanic. You can use the fully equipped workshop and tools to service your own bike, or leave it to the experts at no extra cost.

If you're looking for something a bit closer to home, then check out MX Central. Known otherwise as Barleigh Ranch, this riding complex is located just 20 minutes north of Newcastle and also allows unregistered bikes, and unlicensed riders of all ages. There's a motorcross track, flat track and both junior and senior speedway tracks.
There's no accommodation here but hey; it's only just up the road. There's a canteen and toilets and the motorcross track is closed to the public on club race days, but the rest of the complex is open.

So if you're after an action packed weekend of dirt bike riding, you have plenty of options that will keep the law of your back and provide a fun, safe riding environment. Binacrombi , Louee and MX Central all within easy reach of home for a weekend getaway so it's time to get down and dirty.
