Dinosaur Doo by Andrew Weale and Joelle Dreidemy is a fun little children's picture book about two of the things kids love the most, dinosaurs and poo.

The illustrations are simple and brightly coloured, full of googly eyed dinosaurs and cute cave children. If you're looking for factual accuracy you'll need to look elsewhere, since this book has humans and dinosaurs living together in relative peace and harmony. Ditto if you're seeking diversity or deep moral insight. The plot is, to be frank, disgusting and puerile. The cave children get showered with dinosaur poo (the one on the cover has even been hit right in the face with it) and eventually build the dinosaurs a toilet to use instead. But while the book may not appeal to adults, my kids giggled like mad and made me read it four times in a row. Dinosaurs and poo. It's like kiddie crack.

Recommended for children aged 2 and up, and adults with a sense of humour befitting a preschooler.
