Many New Yorkers as well as well as out-of-towners choose dinner cruises to mark special occasions such as weddings, birthdays, or anniversaries, or simply to have a special night out. There are several to choose from; the two we've chosen allow you to choose from different experiences.
Spirit Cruises
If you want to enjoy seeing New York from the Hudson River, choose a
Spirit Cruise . You choose your meal from the different buffets and enjoy it while listening to a DJ play the latest hits. Your wait staff will also do more than just serve you your food and beverages; they're part of the entertainment also. So, don't be surprised when your waiter or waitress suddenly breaks out into song, that person just got the "spirit" of the Spirit Cruise you're on.
Skyline Princess
Choosing the Skyline Princess for your dinner cruise gives you a choice of five places to board, two of which are in New York City. You can board the dinner cruise in Queens or Manhattan. If you live in other parts of New York State, you have three other points to board.
The cruises offered include lunch, brunch, and dinner cruises. You can also choose from public or private cruises. Many of the locals often choose the "booze-only" cruise as a way to show guests around New York Harbor. "Booze-only" means no food is served; only drinks.
Either one of these dinner cruise ships will give you unique water experience while you are visiting New York. And, if you live in some of the closer states, such as New Jersey and Connecticut, you can also take advantage of these cruises without having to drive into the City. Boarding points are available in those states, making it possible for you to enjoy an evening in the City, but on the water.
