Dick Johnson is a renowned Australian race car driver. He is a three time winner of the
Bathurst 1000, was Australian Touring Car Champion five times and in 2001 was inducted into the V8 Supercar Hall of Fame. The
Dick Johnson Raceshop and Museum (
10 De Bortoli Street, Stapylton) celebrates his achievements.
The Dick Johnson Racing (DJR) Complex is a purpose built venue that houses the museum and race shop, as well as a functioning workshop and
Team Mates headquarters. It is located between Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
The museum houses 30 years of Dick Johnson memorabilia including trophies, photographs and videos. But the real drawcard are the cars that Dick Johnson drove, like the EB Shell Falcon that won Bathurst in 1994 and his last race car, an AU Shell Falcon. Visitors can also see some of his rivals cars, such as Peter Brock's 1978 A9X Torana.
Afterwards, browse DJR merchandise at the Race Shop. As well as key rings, model cars, book and mugs, you may also be able to purchase an authentic car panel. Admission to the museum and Race Shop is free.
Visitors may tour the workshop and watch professionals build and maintain race cars. The tours are conducted on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 11.00am and the cost is $15.00 for adults and $7.50 for concession holders and children.
The Dick Johnson Racing Complex is open Monday to Friday from 10.00am until 4.00pm and on Saturday from 10.00am until 2.00pm. Free parking is available onsite.
