The
Diary of a Wimpy Kid series is written by Jeff Kinney and is a good set of books for nine to twelve year olds. It is humorous and has short cartoon pictures throughout the book.
The series is about a boy called Greg who is in middle school, and it takes you through his everyday life. His older brother Rodrick gets the best of Greg, and his younger brother Manny just interferes with his life. His best friend Rowley lives just up the street from him the only problem is, on his walk up there's the weird kid called Fregly...

There are other books such as the '
Do It Yourself Book' and '
The Wimpy Kid Movie Diary'. These aren't part of the storyline as such, but are part of the series. The
Do It Yourself Book is a book with questions about yourself to answer and there is even an area where you can start writing your own book.
The books have been so popular that three of books have been made into movies.
The Wimpy Kid Movie Diary tells you information about making the movie.
This is all of the books in the
Diary of a Wimpy Kid series:

The Wimpy Kid Movie Diary
The Wimpy Kid Movie Diary 2:Rodrick Rules
The Wimpy Kid Movie Diary 3: Dog Days %%
I enjoyed this series of books because all of the jokes are suited to my age group. I also liked the use of cartoons instead of the usual images which you find in stories. These books are chapter books, but don't take as long to read as other narratives because of the cartoons.
