Inside Dear Pluto...Vintage heaven...
Welcome to
Dear Pluto. It can be easy to write a love letter about this establishment, and if I was to do so I would start with the following:
Friday 4 May 2012
Dear Pluto,
I just love your shop, and thank you so much for allowing me to spend some time in it eating, browsing, drinking and being merry. Your black cat Millie is also so gorgeous. I will write to you again soon...

It would be a severe injustice if I did not let Sydney know about this beautiful establishment. It is a eclectic and creative vintage house that does more for the Surry Hills community (let alone for all of Sydney) than just sell vintage clothing and shoes. Dear Pluto is nestled in a secret alleyway just off Crown Street, and is one of Sydney's best-kept secrets, although thankfully (after a good 18 months in their current location) this secret ain't so secret any more, and the Sydney creatives amongst us are letting loose and spreading the word around like wildfire. Dear Pluto is also way more than than a gorgeous emporium of old gold and quality vintage clothing.

Did I tell you that Dear Pluto is also home to a speed dating event, a movie house, a craft fair and a Sunday garden market? In what they refer to as some really "
cool shit"? well you know now, and to now add a writers "G and Tea Party" to the list, where Dear Pluto's owner Emma mentioned to me that this very same night was the very first night that Dear Pluto also had a musician entertaining us; in fact one of Sydney's emerging singer/songwriters Charles Buddy Dabboul took the cup of glory on this occasion.
That's right, I was amongst a handful of Sydney based leisure and lifestyle writers, (I am not bragging here; with over 900 published articles since I first became a leisure and lifestyle writer since September last year, and there were other writers out there who have achieved a similar feat) who have worked their butts (and their fingers and MacBooks) off (almost sending their Internet Service Providers for broke), The writers were treated on the house to some music and a cocktail party with a twist - all you can drink gin and tonics served in vintage teacups. Elegance and cosmopolitan cocktail-loving Sydney met up, became friends and fell in love with some yummy all you can eat cupcakes - kind of like a high tea kind of theme with many hangovers reported the next day.

Dear Pluto's lucky charm (Millie the cat) was adored by many of us cat-loving Sydne siders. The cat actually belongs to the Dear Pluto shop, yet there were a few comments on the night saying that "the shop actually belongs to the cat". The cat was petted, hugged, kissed, cuddled and posed for photos like a full on cat paparazzi was in force.

A few of my writing peers and guests also brought a few vintage items, and it was discovered that these vintage shoes and clothes were really well priced. Excellent customer service was observed, and it is fantastic that such a delicious vintage shop is bringing Sydneysiders the best of both worlds; especially with a great selection of vintage fashion items, in tandem with some fun social events that rock our boats in a pleasant way. Must be visited to be appreciated.
