When I was younger, cinemas were a place of mystery. From the ticket window to the dimly lit theatre room, there was always an element of surprise. I remember listening to the buzz in the air just moments before the movie started, and as soon as the lights dimmed out and the curtains rolled back, silence sliced through the room. Soon the room was filled with light and sounds from an iconic movie production, and everyone become fixated on the flickering screen while merrily munching on popcorn.

Of course this type of experience can hardly be found today. The digital area has brought about a mass focus on glimmer and glamour with up-selling at every opportunity. Even the popcorn and drinks are pricey, with a pop corn and drink now reaching about $14.00.

So imagine my surprise when I visited s . From the moment I parked my car I knew I was in for a great experience. When you walk through the double doors, you are welcomed by vintage decor that sends you quickly down memory lane.

The vintage theme is cleverly taken into the theatre with attention to detail being paid towards chairs, decor and even the curtain around the screen. It was wonderful to finally watch a movie and hear the soft hum of a projector in the background. Attention was also given to the audio which gave us a full vintage surround sound experience.

However the cherry on top of the cake was the price. I was expecting to pay at least $20.00 for a ticket as most places charge. Imagine my surprise to only pay $14.00. As for the popcorn...I got that for free. Can you believe that?
