Riding a bicycle to work has enormous environmental benefits, but it does leave you sweaty and panting – hardly the look you want for work. If only there were some place you could shower and change before stepping into the office...

For those who work in and around the city, that place is Cycle2City (C2C). C2C is a combined initiative of the Brisbane City Council and Queensland Transport that provides an end of trip service for cyclists who ride into the city. The george square&aq=&sll=-25.335448,135.745076&sspn=36.982434,86.220703&ie=UTF8&hq=King George Square&hnear=King George Square, Brisbane Queensland 4000&ll=-27.46765,153.024144&spn=0.017973,0.0421&z=15&iwloc=A King George Square facility is an Australian first that is helping to make Brisbane more cycle friendly.

For cyclists who have had to deal with turning up to work drenched in sweat, C2C is most convenient. The club provides more than 400 bike parking spaces, secure personal lockers, showers for men and women, towels, ironing board and iron, hair dryers, an onsite bicycle workshop and free training for new members. For an extra fee, members can take advantage of the laundry and valet services.

Membership is flexible and can be taken on a monthly or even daily basis. The longer you sign up, the cheaper it works out; full use for one day is $12.00, but a six month membership is $550.00, which works out to $4.40 per day. Regardless of membership type, all members have the same access to facilities.

C2C is open Monday to Friday from 6.00am until 8.00pm, with plans to expand into a seven day operation in the future.
