Currumbin Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches on the Gold Coast, and probably one of the most quiet, from the experience I've had.
It is located just past Miami Beach and it extends along a very nice neighbourhood with lots of trees and gardens, not the usual busy body beachside most places have.
There is a large bridge which divides the beach in two areas, on side has more waves whereas the other is a bit calmer due to the current not being as strong from the winds blowing the opposite direction.
Currimbin Beach is good for spending the day tanning and swimming in a more relaxed and safe place for the children. It is also good to practice body boarding and such since it is not as busy as other beaches and also, last but not least, it is a great spot for a fishing trip for the day or weekend.
Under the large bridge there is a place for people under the shade where you can sit or stand all day and fish while your partner or friends tan right next to you on the small sand area located just near the shade of the bridge.
It is a beautiful beach and the atmosphere is so fresh and feels like it's summer even during winter. So even for those on the border of New South Wales, drive down this summer for a great weekend in Queensland. For accomodation see
