Do your kids love all things creepy crawlies? Are they fascinated with bugs, insects and butterflies? If so, Cockburn Gateways Shopping City has the perfect school holiday activity.

In a first for Cockburn Gateway, the centre will be teaming up with the Western Australian Museum to offer some creeping, crawling fun these school holidays.

From Monday, 10th April to Thursday, 13th April and Tuesday, 17th April to Friday, 21st April from 11am to 2pm, the innovative partnership with the WA Museum will bring a selection of bugs, insects, butterflies and spiders for display at the shopping complex.

Children who love to get hands-on will also be able to get creative in the craft zone, located outside Target, and will have the opportunity to make their own butterfly or spider masks. Plus, there will some fun photo opportunities as well as free face painting. The activities are suitable for children aged three to 12 years. All activities are free and bookings are not required.

This is a great opportunity for kids and their parents to learn more about some of Western Australia's commonly sighted bugs, spiders and creatures, and have a bit of fun in the process.

The centre will have knowledgeable WA Museum staff on hand to share some interesting facts about insects and bugs that could be living in your own backyards.

So put that fly swatter down and leave the bug spray under the sink – you and the kids could learn things about our native creepy crawlies that you never knew before.
