Cootha Classic is a weekend of motor racing and car displays taking place on May 29th and 30th at Mt Coot-tha in Brisbane's inner west.
The weekend's history dates back 94 years and many famous Brisbane motoring names have taken part including 1916 and 1918 hillclimb winner, FZ Eager, who was a founder of the Eagers group of motor dealerships.
The 2010 event will see over 600 vehicles take part in displays, demonstrations, hillclimbs and timed competition. Both race and road cars take part in the Cootha Classic as well as bikes, karts and speedway vehicles. Visitors to the Cootha Classic have the chance to get up close to world famous car marques including Jaguar, Lotus and Porsche.
The Cootha Classic is held at Mt Coot-tha in Brisbane's inner west. Brisbane City Council
bus routes 375 and 471 will take you to the event. Paid parking is available at the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens or Wests Rugby League Club, Purtell Park, Bardon. Patrons parking at Purtell Park will be able to jump on a shuttle bus to the circuit. Food, drinks and facilities will be available at Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens.
Tickets costs $20 for adults per day and $15 for seniors and students per day. A 2 day pass can be purchased for $30 for adults. Children under 14 (accompanied by an adult) can attend for free. Tickets can only be purchased for cash at entry gates. The Cootha Classic is an alcohol free event and animals are not permitted to attend.
