Did you know that over 700,000 Australians (Australian Bureau of Statistics) suffer from brain injury, that 3 out of every 4 of them are aged under 65 and two out of three of these acquired their brain injury before they turned 25? Acquired Brain Injury is damage caused to the brain which has occurred after birth. This can be caused by an accident or trauma, stroke, brain infection, alcohol or other drugs or by diseases of the brain such as Parkinson's.

In support of people living with acquired brain injury, Families4Families is holding a special event screening of Concussion , starring Will Smith, on 18 May 2016 at 6.30 pm at the stunning Regal Theatre , 275 Kensington Road, Kensington Park.

Concussion is a dramatic thriller focussed on "how American football players suffer from major head injuries and life-long debilitating problems as a result of repeated concussions and efforts by the National Football League to deny it." It is a true David and Goliath story of how one man first discovered Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) and fought for the truth to be known.

Families4Families raises community awareness about Acquired Brain Injury, as one of the leading causes of disability in South Australia. Families4Families seeks to raise funds to assist in the support of people with Acquired Brain Injury through building resilience and maximising quality of life and wellbeing through the provision of information and education sessions, social opportunities, online resources and family focussed support.

Come along to this amazing event, organised by members of Families4Families with Acquired Brain Injury. You will get to meet and be inspired by them.

Tickets can be booked via Eventbrite . Tickets will cost $22 (plus $1.87 fee from Eventbrite) with all guests receiving a free glass of sparkling wine on arrival. Drinks and snacks will be available for sale with 100% of sales going towards the valuable work of Families4Families. There will be a raffle and a lucky door prize.
