There are some weekends where jobs around the house just can't be avoided. So next time the grass needs a mow, the garden beds need mulching, or the hedges need a trim, combine these with a visit to
The Complete Garden centre, and you'll be enjoying your weekend in no time.
The Complete Garden entrance
We recently visited The Complete Garden located in Sippy Downs. Free ample parking borders the Centre but watch out for the overflowing terracotta and stoneware pots on sale that frame the entrance.
Watch out for these friendly statues in the carpark
The Centre itself is part of a national franchise of Complete Garden stores. The company professes to deliver products that are all about lifestyle – and a visit to the Centre certainly gives this impression.
Products that are all about lifestyle, including water features
Everywhere you look you'll spot different design and furnishing inspirations, and you can easily wile away the hours imaging the looks in your own home. The store offers all manner or furnishings, although there is a definite emphasis on outdoor living – dining settings, urns, water features, lamps and mirrors.
Garden ideas for inspiration
Once we made our way through the main building, and trust me, it took a lot of "stay focused" prompting from my husband, we found our way into the nursery. Forget the typical hardware store nursery you may have experienced in the past. This place is massive.
More outdoor ideas
We had trouble seeing the back fence, and happily wandered amongst the rows of agaves, the pods of palms and the huddles of herbs, until we'd found the plants we'd been looking for. Most plants are offered in a variety of sizes, from seedlings to mature trees, so you can usually find something to suit your budget. One of our favourite features of the nursery were the gardens at the entrance which provided ideas and inspiration for your plant choices. Seeing the colour and foliage options in action were a great motivation for our garden makeover.
Rows and rows of agaves
While it's not your typical weekend adventure, a trip to The Complete Garden offers inspiration and is absolutely free (unless of course, you get tempted and make a purchase or two like we did).
