The Slugs Over 35's AFL Football Club is proudly presenting 'Comedy for a Cause' on Saturday 11th February 2017.
This special one-off comedy event features a stellar line-up of celebrated comedians, with full proceeds going to KickStart for Kids.
It's being held at The Hackney Hotel (voted Adelaide's Number 1 Hotel Function Venue in 2013, 2014 and 2016), kicking off at 8pm with a fantastic showcase of some of Adelaide's best comedic talent. Your host for the evening is Adelaide's 'Most Beautiful Bogan' Marc Ryan.
The exciting headlining act is SA comedy legend Mickey D (aka Michael Dwyer), who is a megastar on the UK comedy circuit.
Originally from Adelaide's southern suburbs, Mickey was a natural born performer and quickly went from being a finalist on Triple J's Raw Comedy to a popular international stand-up comedian. His career has spanned an impressive 15 years and he has performed across the UK, throughout Europe and in the United States. He is sure to have Adelaide audiences laughing till it hurts.
Another feature act is Fabien Clark. Recipient of Adelaide Comedian of the Year in 2013, Fabien has gone on to appear on "Stand-Up Australia" on the Comedy Channel Show and won the Coveted Weekly Award for Best Comedy at the 2016 Adelaide Fringe. He now co-hosts "The Gist" on Triple M.
Completing the incredible comedy line-up is Ross Voss (Adelaide's Comedy Representative, 2016 Edinburgh Fringe Festival in the UK), Maggie Wood (Scottish Comedy Export) and Taylor Goodwin (Guinness World Record for the Most Jokes Told in One Hour).
All proceeds from Comedy for a Cause will go towards supporting KickStart for Kids, a not for profit organisation which helps disadvantaged children achieve educational and self-esteem outcomes through breakfast, lunch and mentoring programs.
