Fancy a laugh to help shake off the last of the winter blues?
The
Friend in Hand pub in Glebe has a comedy night called Mic in Hand every Thursday night.
It's a venue for new comics (Open Mic'ers) to get some stage time. They usually also have a solid headline act in the form of a more established comic trying out new material.
The fact that the comics are fresh-meat gives the night a raw feel. There are no overly-polished routines here.
Things kick off at 7.30pm, however it's first come first served for tickets so you probably don't want to arrive after 7pm.
The Friend in Hand also serves decent pub grub so you could rock up early, buy tickets, and then have a feed while waiting for the fun to begin.
You could also try any of the other fine Glebe eateries such as the
Different Drummer which serves great Tapas and Cocktails.
Why do it? Laughing makes you live longer.
If you feel like a giggle right now check out
