Steeped in history, on a road dating back to the 18th century, lies a market with everything gardeners could ever ask for. The Columbia Road Flower Market, held every Sunday from 8am to 3pm, sells everything from chrysanthemums to tropical plants.
The sellers are long established too, one chap has been trading since 1949 and another has been coming to the market for 50 years! Some grow their own plants as well, with one offering a variety of Essex grown herbs such as pineapple sage and Moroccan mint.
Columbia Road offers the true market and shopping experience. There's also sixty independent stores specialising in antiques, toys and jewellery to name but a few.
Shop opening hours vary, check out this guide for
more information. You could also treat yourself to a bite to eat at one of the several cafes and restaurants found here.
You can park free for two hours in any of these
car parks. Cambridge Heath and Bethnal Green railway stations are about 15 minutes walk from the market.
Whether you fancy brightening up your home or adding to your garden, you'll find all you need at Columbia Road Flower Market.
