The imaginative folks at Black Light Mini-Golf, Docklands, have a brand-new one-of a-kind experience entitled ''Coffin Ride.' This simulated ride, which originated in the USA, has been a hit overseas and will now be available to Melburnians to try out - if they are brave enough!
This new attraction will officially open at 6pm on Friday, February 11th 2011.
Coffin Ride' is a virtual experience, in which you lie in a pitch black coffin and hear, feel and smell, what it is like to take your 'last ride' - as gravediggers take you to your gravesite, your final resting place, and bury you!
If that's not enough, the whole terrifying experience is recorded in night vision - and can be viewed by your friends and family as it happens and can also be purchased on a DVD!
This somewhat macabre attraction, is also very inspired - particularly since film's such as Buried and Kill Bill: Vol 2 have toyed with the idea of what it would be like to be buried alive;
The 'Coffin Ride' is open on Friday, from 9pm until 10.45pm and Saturday, 6pm until 10.45pm.
Due to the themes and the nature of the simulated ride, only children 12 and over are admitted. Also, pregnant women, persons with heart problems or pace makers or persons who suffer from claustrophobia or epilepsy should not take the ride.
The price for a single ride is $10:00 or you can purchase admission to Black Light MiniGolf Game and Coffin Ride at the discounted price of $20:00.
A DVD of your experience is priced at an additional $5:00.
We had an absolute scream when we did this, frightened the life out of my gf, no not the coffin ride but the freeking zombie jumper. Most original place I ever found.
