I escaped to Sydney over 11 years ago and haven't looked back since. I enjoy going to cafes, local markets and festivals, and finding the best views in town for free. Visit my twitter page: https://twitter.com/sydneyonabudget

Love your coffee? Then you'll love this free tastng
If you're a coffee fan and want to explore the wide and diverse range of blends out there, this free class is for you. Roastville in Marrickville run public cupping classes every Saturday at 2pm.
If you're like me, your first question will be what exactly is public cupping? Let me demystify the coffee jargon for you.
What is public cupping?
Public cupping is the act of tasting a range of coffees to compare the differences in each blend such as the flavour, fragrance, body or mouthfeel, acidity, and aftertaste. The practice is similar to wine tasting; cuppers first smell the coffee beans and then taste the coffee to make observations about it. Best of all, you get to taste lots of coffee!
Roastville is many things - it is a restaurant, wholesaler and a training ground for baristas located in Sydney's Inner West. And they really love their coffee. So much so they brew for over 8 hours to offer their customers a fuller flavoured coffee known as the 'cold drip' method.
Roastville also offers both single origin coffee and fusions of different coffee beans to keep you coming back for more. With complementary dishes like the Infamous Kimchi Waffles and the Dirty Bird Benedict, your tastebuds will be buzzing.
Book your place
To attend a public cupping session, book online with Eventbrite and specify the date you would like to attend. Seats are limited to 6 people per session.
