Enrolment for Term 4 of Coding Kids Coding Clubs are now open!Coding Kids Coding Clubs are held in convenient locations in Brisbane, Ipswich, Gold Coast and Logan. They run for 8 weeks and are designed for children who want to create their own computer games and animations.Facilated by friendly Mentors, the coding clubs see children in Years 2 to 7 build computer games, program robots, and design animations.
Computer programming is an empowering skill, it enables children to build and create and with Coding Kids, children can engage with computational thinking, algorithmic thinking, problem-solving, mathematics, computer programming concepts and graphic design, whilst creating a tangible product using Scratch or Python. Choose from two options:Learn to program with Scratch (Years 2-6)Learn to program with Python (Years 5-7)All workshops are designed for beginners up to advanced coders aged 7 to 13 years.Auslan & Signed English fluent Coding Mentors are also available upon requestDetails of various code camps:1. Saturdays - Learn to code Date: Saturdays, 8 October - Saturday, 26 November (8-weeks)Time: Time: 12:30pm-1:30pm Venue: The Edge, South BankEnrolment fee: $1672. After school - Learn to Code with Scratch (Years 2 - 6)Date: 12 October - 1 December (8-weeks)- Ipswich on Wednesdays, 4.00-5.00pm $167- Bracken Ridge on Thursdays, 4.00-5.00pm $1673. Homeschool - Learn to Code with Scratch (Years 2 - 6)Date: Tuesdays, 11 October - 29 November (8-weeks)Time: 12.15-1.15pmVenue: The Edge, South BankEnrolment fee: $120All Coding Mentors have blue cards and each program is aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
Over 8 weeks, students learn to code with Scratch (developed by MIT) or Python. Feel free to bring your own robot, hardware or circuitry such as Makey Makey, mBot and Lego WeDo.Years 2-6: Scratch (uses drag and drop coding blocks to create games, animations, interactive stories and robotics)Years 5-7: Students new to programming can start with Python. Python is a great programming language to help beginners to understand programming concepts.
