If you've ever experienced even just a slight prickle of envy as you watch Tom Cruise niftily navigating
that cliff in the opening scenes of Mission Impossible, then the new West 1 climbing wall could provide you with a real weekend treat. Granted there won't be a racing river 2,000 feet below, but at 13.5 metres it is the highest wall London's ever offered.
The popularity for indoor climbing is increasing every year and now there are around five million climbing wall users in the UK. Newly opened in March 2010 Seymour Leisure Centre's new climbing sensation is set over three floors and includes a 60 metre square boulder area. Brought to you by established climbing company High Sports, you can book a beginner course if you're a climbing or abseiling newbie or take part in new group exercise class called ROCKFIT. There's also courses and sessions for the more experienced climber.
The Seymour Centre isn't located far from Oxford Street (closest tubes are Edgware Road, Marylebone and Baker Street), so you could even pop in for a quick climb after a shopping session – the swimming pool is also pretty impressive! Still not sure? Find out more by checking out the
