City of London Festival Golden Jubilee
The City of London Festival will be celebrating its Golden Jubilee this year and won't officially begin until 24 June. If you can't wait that long, there is a series of weekly free concerts running from now until early April. These are all small scale recitals taking place at various venues throughout the City and are perfect for those wishing to fill their lunchtime breaks, or for visitors to London who would like to unwind and listen to music for an hour. The offerings are eclectically mixed and cater to a variety of tastes, from early music to twentieth-century classical, and from jazz to folk. Visitors will be entertained by voices, piano, brass, early instruments, woodwind, strings and guitars, so there is something for everybody.
