Chophouse Restaurant

Chophouse is a steak house like few other. The retro style décor of exposed woodwork really evokes a sense of turning back time, one could be forgiven for thinking they have been cast in Boardwalk Empire. It is raw, unsophisticated and masculine. Walking in, one has the feeling as if they are sitting down to dig in after a long hard day of labour in the factory; it is enough to immediately ignite your appetite.

Although Chophouse may have the appearance of an old slaughterhouse, the comfort is still there. The interior is spacious under those large arches, so groups of people would fit right in without making the vicinity rowdy.

Beyond the striking visual impression, hearty, well presented meals are the key attraction. Even the most carnivorous of us would be able to eat to their heart's content here. There's a variety of lamb and pork chops on offer, as well as beef ribs. The most impressive item on the menu is the black angus tomahawk steak, which weighs in at over 2kg and is shown to you on a platter before being cooked to your personal preference. With full rib on the bone, it can be shared by a couple or more people.

All the sea food retain its freshness, the pan fried barramundi is especially enticing. Of course, no steak is complete without some salads, and Chophouse manage to excel in this department also.

Desserts are well made and classy looking. The range of wine is also impressive. Service wise, there are many engaging staff, whose demeanour keep the atmosphere light-hearted.

The experience at Chophouse is quite a unique break from many other restaurants. But it is much more than appearance. After all, it is a fulfilled stomach that's going to bring you back to it time after time.
