Being a chocolate lover, I have heard many great things about San Churro Chocolateria but never actually had the chance to try it out myself until today - boy, it was not a mistake!
San Churros is located amongst a selection of restaurant serving a range of diverse cuisines on Church St., Parramatta. It is approximately a 10 minute walk from Parramatta Station and Westfield. It is most definitely the place-to-go for every chocoholic; just walk in the store and you will be hit with the rich aromas of the chocolate.
I ordered a 'Avellana' (hazelnut) hot chocolate from their Spanish hot chocolate range, and it was one of the best hot chocolates I have ever tasted. When it was first served, I was enticed by the thick, creamy skin of dark chocolate on top, but I did not expect the entire cup to be of that consistency; it was like drinking melted chocolate. Another delightful beverage to try is the 'Hot and Cold,' a hot chocolate with a generous serve of white chocolate ice cream.
The churros were a delight as well - deep-fried till golden with the perfect crisp and a sprinkle of icing sugar. There are a range of dipping sauces to choose from including milk, dark, white, caramel and hazelnut. We decided to order the 'Churros for Two' with milk and hazelnut dipping sauces. Though the prices were quite costly, the servings were also quite generous. There were 6 churros for our order and it was more than enough to fill our bellies.
I really liked this place. The setting is really nice and homey which made me feel really comfortable and their friendly staff were a plus too. I could probably sit there and chat with a friend all day. San Churro also offer a range of chocolates, fondues, cakes and pastries - so it will suit the needs of any chocolate lover.
