For many chocoholics, the mere mention of the word "chocolate" will have them salivating like one of Pavlov's mutts. What effect the written word has on them is not entirely clear, but the chances are they'll be a gibbering wreck by the time they get to the end of this article.
Taking place over two days (15th and 16th October) at
Vinopolis on the South Bank, the
Chocolate Unwrapped show is an event that involves so much of the brown stuff that if it was all piled up on top of each other, it would reach all the way to the moon (perhaps).
At Chocolate Unwrapped you can drool over chocolate sculptures (including
Paul Wayne Gregory's three-feet high chocolate dolls house), be inspired by chocolate cooking demonstrations, and, of course, taste lots of choc samples.
You'll also have the chance to create some chocolate art by painting with actual pieces of chocolate, though one can imagine little drawing will be done as most 'artists' will probably eat their drawing implement before it has a chance to hit the canvas.
And for those who might be interested in how the cocoa bean is transformed into chocolate, you can watch it happen at Chocolate Unwrapped's mini chocolate factory - although if we're honest, I think most chocoholics are more interested in how they can get the chocolate from the wrapper into their mouth in the fastest possible time.
A variety of demonstrations and talks will be taking place at Chocolate Unwrapped. Acclaimed chocolatier
William Curley, for example, will be guiding audiences through recipes from his new book, Couture Chocolate.
Top pastry chef
Phil Usher will be making a Bolivian wild chocolate and mandarin bombe. If you ask nicely, he might give you a bit of it, but don't start fighting over it for goodness sake.
There'll be a ton of exhibitors from the world of chocolate in attendance too.

Tickets cost £8, which probably sounds very reasonable if you're hopelessly addicted to chocolate. Heaven for £8? Bargain.
